Reviews

2011 was the first year for Bobcat Mountain Bed and Breakfast.  We welcomed a number of guests.  The guests were asked to complete on paper feedback so that we could get a better understanding of what each guest liked and what they thought could be improved so that we could better accomodate our guests.  Although not all guests provided feedback, the feedback below includes the guest's  entire comments verbatum.

Based on the comments of 2011 guests, we have added a DVD player to each room, a refrigerator to most of the rooms, a hot tub on the deck, and wireless internet (slow...via satellite).  We are hoping to add a small outdoor kitchen for our guests to use this summer.   In 2012, we hope to get our guests to review us online for all to see.  I think we are ready for the big time!

The two questions:  What did you like?  What could have been better?

Below are comments received verbatum in 2011:

Everything was wonderful!  The home is great, from the seets to the towels, to the view from the great room!  Thank you for everything.   I can't think of anything.  Hope to be here again.  Rich - TX

Everything was great!  Great Hospilatity.  Hope to come again.   Need signs.  Ed -  NM

Really liked the living room and deck area, being able to relax, visit with each other, to see the great view and watch the critters.  Also, able to sit by the fire, enjoyed breakfast, brownies, jams.  I slept comfortable, really liked the pillows on the bed and the georgeous views.  I like that I felt right at home and the company.    There were a few minor fine tuning, the refrigerator in our room was humming, I unplugged it.  Toilet needs some adjustment, not closing properly.   David - NM

Liked everything, especially breakfast.  We all 3 loved everything about the place, mostly the homey appeal and delicious home cooking.  I was the most wonderful time, and beautiful place.  We will definitely be back and tell others!  I fell in love with Faye.  It was awesome, no complaints, no changes.  Julie, Rick and Emily - TX

Liked everything.  The balcony, hummingbirds, breakfast, stars.  The privacy, it was very "home"  I wish we could have stayed longer.   We could have used wireless internet.    Royce - TX

Loved the atmosphere - great.  Very clean, relaxing, loved bird watching.  Accomodations comfortable bed, temperature.  Loved the deck area.  Hospitability very enjoyable.  Loved visiting.  Food was tasty, plentiful, delicious apple cake and brownies.  Can't think of anything to change.  Great conversation "piece of info about the area and sending us to the Rio Grande Gorge.  Bill & Karen - TX

The place was beautiful - comfortable and the view was fantastic.  Everything was awesome!  Have never been in a bed and breakfast we enjoyed more than this one.  We want to come back - will definitely recommend.  There's nothing that we would say to change.   Ava & John - TX

The cabin and property are amazing!  The temperature and forest drew us to RR, but the cabin will make us come back next summer.   A cheap DVD play for TV would be nice.  A small college dorm refrig would be nice for snacks and drinks.  Tom & Michelle - TX

Liked the environment, hospitability, location, breakfast at lunch!  Everything was amazing.  The only two nice additions would be some sort of heating element for the deck for the cooler nights and a hot tub but other than that it was all perfect.  Haley & Brandon - TX

Liked everything!  This is a beautiful place.  The Eagle Nest room is the nicest B & B room we have encountered.  Breakfast is a real event, much more extensive than the website inferred.  The property is striking.  Sets the whole stay up as a fine experience.  Please explain how the key code and box works for simple folks like us.  Thanks so much for a splendid weekend.  George & Susan - NM

Liked the seclusion, visit, quiet, no pet rule, relaxed, fridge in room, private bath.  Would have liked internet access.  You guys are very pleasant.  Mark & Kandi - TX

Liked the great food and views!  Wonderful area - very relaxing.  Recommend highly.  Bed was firm for our taste - Everything else was perfect!  Richard & Linda - TX

Liked the immaculate cleanliness of the lodge and property.  Beautiful view.  Luxurious high-end towels, soaps, beds and beddings.  Everything "worked" and was available for us.  Delicious cooking.  We will always remember fondly our time at the Bobcat Mountain Lodge.  Don & Cindy - TX

We loved your amazing home & views.  We enjoyed the birds and getting to know you.  You are wonderful hosts.  Breakfasts absolutely wonderful.  The room was very comfortable and allowed us to catch up on some much need rest.  Thanks so much.  Jim & Donna - TX

We had a most wonderful time.   It is the nicest B & B we have ever stayed in.  Super breakfast.  Don't change a thing.  Tom & Anna - NM

Everything was perfect.  Warm hospitability most of all.  More time here!  Sam & Pam - NM

Thanks to all our guests for staying with us in 2011 and the comments that have helped us improve.  We look forward to welcoming you back and hope to welcome  additional new guests to enjoy our Lodge in 2012!

Why we named the Lodge "Bobcat Mountain Lodge

Late one Friday night, about three miles from the lodge, we saw an animal on the highway that had been hit by a car.  We stopped and found the animal was a bobcat.  The bobcat appeared to have been hit very hard, and was barely breathing.  Not wanting to leave the animal in the road, we picked the bobcat up, put him in a plastic garbage bag and took him to the Lodge, laid the animal in the garage, turned out the lights and went to bed.  Next morning, we heard loud crashing noises in the garage.  Easing the walk-in door open from the house to the garage, we looked around cautiously and finally saw the Bobcat on one of the top shelves, looking very hurt and dazed, only able to open one eye.  We tried to contact the NM Fish & Game, but it was the weekend, no answer.  Sunday came and the weekend was over and we had to go home.  We couldn’t leave him in the garage for a week, so we thawed out two chicken breasts, cut them up and threw pieces to him.  Chicken falling from the sky….a bobcat’s dream! He ate every piece and licked his whiskers.  We opened the big garage door, he hesitated, then walked slowly out the driveway to freedom.  We believe the hardy meal of chicken and his recovery time in the garage enabled him to hunt and again survive in the wild.  How could we name our Lodge anything but……
Bobcat Mountain Lodge!
